The 85th edition of the Milan-San Remo was run under brilliant sunny skies and hot temperatures. The race started in Milan with finish is again on "Via Roma" in San Remo.
The race was won by Giorgio Furlan of the Gewiss–Ballan team 20 seconds ahead of Mario Cipollini and a fast closing peloton.
